Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum penicillin antibiotic, used against common bacterial infections of the skin, chest, ear and urinary tract. Being a beta-lactam, it attacks the bacterial cell wall - and has no activity at all against viruses, which is worth keeping straight when comparing it with the acyclovir products in the same section.
Zee Drugs sells it as Vemox. This is the 250 mg capsule, thirty per box: powder in a gelatin shell, swallowed whole rather than pressed into a tablet.
