The heaviest tablet John Lee puts under the Ekovir name - 800 mg of acyclovir per unit, in a five-tablet strip.
Strengths this high exist for a straightforward pharmacological reason: acyclovir has fairly poor oral bioavailability, so a large amount has to go in for a useful quantity to reach circulation. That is also why the oral strengths of this drug climb far higher than those of most tablets in the section.
Like the smaller Ekovir boxes it is an antiviral, active against herpes-type viruses only, and the short pack keeps it to a high-strength strip rather than a month of supply.
