The substance is a non-aromatising 19-nor androgen, methylated at the seventeenth carbon so that it passes the digestive tract intact. Receptor affinity is high enough that milligram-level tablets would be unusual, and the microgram format exists for exactly that reason. Like every 17-alpha-alkylated oral it places a real load on the liver, and it brings none of the oestrogenic conversion associated with testosterone.
