Same molecule, same manufacturer, half the strength: Cabgolin carries 0.25 mg of cabergoline per tablet in a four-tablet pack, and Sun Pharma market it under this name alongside their Caberlin label.
Cabergoline acts on dopamine receptors rather than on oestrogen or its receptor, and its clearest effect is suppression of prolactin secretion from the anterior pituitary. In medicine it is prescribed for hyperprolactinaemia and related conditions.
The smaller tablet exists because the drug is potent by the milligram and stays active for days; a quarter-milligram unit is simply a finer division than the 0.5 mg form.
