The oil contains several testosterone esters of varying chain length. An ester governs only how fast the hormone is freed into the blood; the hormone itself is the same molecule behind every one of them. A mixture therefore behaves as a long-acting preparation with an earlier onset than a pure decanoate would give. Administration is intramuscular.
